Dr. Abedin is a highly experienced and dedicated dentist with over 20 years of clinical experience, committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered dental care. He is the owner and lead dentist at American Modern Dental, where he combines advanced clinical expertise with a gentle, thoughtful approach to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Dr. Abedin completed advanced dental training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors. He has pursued extensive continuing education throughout his career, with advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, dental implantology, and Invisalign® clear aligner therapy. He also completed a comprehensive two-year Maxi Course in Dental Implantology and is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AFAAID), reflecting his commitment to advanced training and excellence in implant dentistry.
With a special focus on oral implantology and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Abedin is highly skilled in procedures such as dental implants, All-on-X full-arch restorations, porcelain veneers, Invisalign®, and dental emergency care. His meticulous attention to detail and understanding of dental function and aesthetics support precise, natural-looking results tailored to each patient's needs.
Dr. Abedin is known for being gentle, calm, and reassuring. He takes the time to listen carefully to patient concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and prioritize patient comfort throughout treatment. He believes dentistry is not only about technical excellence, but also about trust, empathy, and relieving pain and anxiety. His goal is for every patient to feel confident, respected, and well cared for from the moment they walk into the office.
Why I Became a Dentist
Dr. Abedin chose dentistry because it allows him to make a meaningful, immediate difference in people's lives. He understands that dental pain, anxiety, and cosmetic concerns can affect a person's confidence, comfort, and overall well-being. Being able to relieve pain, restore function, and help patients smile with confidence is what continues to motivate him every day. For Dr. Abedin, dentistry is a unique blend of science, precision, artistry, and human connection—and he finds deep fulfillment in building long-term relationships with patients based on trust and care.
Dr. Abedin understands the importance of professionalism, integrity, and the personal connection patients expect from their dentist. He continuously invests in modern technology, advanced techniques, and ongoing education to provide care that meets the highest standards of modern dentistry.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA), and a former member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). His dedication to excellence has been recognized through multiple honors, including induction into the National Dental Honor Society (Omicron Kappa Upsilon) and awards for clinical excellence during advanced training.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Abedin lives in Houston, Texas, and enjoys short trips, staying active with sports such as soccer and tennis, following the Olympic Games and World Cup, supporting Houston teams, listening to music, watching movies, and exploring new technologies through continuous learning.
